A black iris is probably the most mysterious of and iris family. Many people enjoy these flowers whether they are into dark colors or not. These flowers are not actually black but instead they are a very deep purple. Some people even have certain superstitions about this flower.

When you are buying these beautiful flowers as a gift they are wonderful when combined with a tulip, rose or any other flower or color you enjoy seeing together. They are even great just by themselves. These usually grow late in the spring and they enjoy full sun to only partial sun. They will thrive either way.

Why a black iris is so rare?
This flower that is black may be found around the world in a few climates. They are very popular among people that enjoy dark colored flowers and people that are more goth. Many colors that will go great with this flower is white, like the white tulip or even the pink or red rose. Any kind of flower is great with this colored iris as long as you like the looks of it.
These are probably the most rarest because of their deep color. The best months to see them is during March and April. This plant can mostly be seen growing in different parts of Jordan like the dead sea for instance. These plants even can grow in the desert. This plant is the Jordanian national flower.
Some people may even use them for ceremonial purposes. They use them to decorate and make their hair look pretty. There is also people that use them for their color. They may crush them into a container and use the juices that come from them to dye things and paint with. However, a lot of people prefer not crushing them due to their rarity.
